Total Freedom

Categories: Word of the Month

Calvary greetings in the name of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ who has made it possible for us to come to the month of April.  This month, God has declared unto us that by the reason of His death on the cross and resurrection we will have TOTAL FREEDOM (John 8:36) so that we can soar high as the eagle (1saiah 40:31). Therefore, do not allow the situations of life to cage you or put you down.  The Almighty God will move in your life and do A New Thing this season like never before in Jesus name (Isaiah 43:19).

The word in John 8:36, clearly states that, “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” The one who is made free indeed is no longer a servant of sin.  The scriptures also say that “… whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.” (1 John 5:18). By the reason of the freedom that would be granted unto you this season no weapon of the enemy fashioned against you will prosper in Jesus name (Isaiah 54:19).

We are reminded of the story of the children of Israel in captivity and slavery.  After spending so many years in pain and agony, God granted them freedom (Exodus 12:31-36).  By the time they were leaving for the journey to the Promised Land, they had favour from even their Egyptian masters.

We are also told of a story about a woman called Hannah in 1 Samuel 1 -2 whose womb was shut and therefore was barren for years and thereby suffered shame and was ridiculed by her mate, Peninnah.  The Bible in 1 Samuel 1:6 records that her situation was even caused by The Most High God.  All the same, Hannah didn’t give up on God and at the end had a baby by the reason of a divine word (1 Samuel 1:17).  It is my prayer that as you open up your heart to receive from His Word this season, His Word will become flesh in your life and you shall testify in Jesus name (John 1:14; John 17:8).

In the case of Paul and Silas while in prison, they prayed and there was a divine earthquake that caused the prison doors to open (Acts 16:25).  Peter too had a miraculous escape from prison while the brethren where keeping vigil in prayer (Acts 12:1-19).  It is my prayer that you will not faint and succumb to the pressures of life this season in Jesus name. You will overcome every storm in your life and be free from every yoke of sickness in Jesus name because Our Saviour, Jesus Christ has paid the price in full at the Cross where He declared that “It is finished” (John 19:30).

Consequently, strive to draw close to Jesus Christ who is the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2).  The Bible says that and you will know the truth and the truth shall set you free (John 8:32). Jesus is the truth that sets us free.  He is the source of truth, the perfect standard of what is right. He frees us from the consequences of sin, from self-deception and deception by the enemy. He shows clearly the way to eternal life with God. Remember Jesus does not give us freedom to do what we want, but freedom to follow God.  As we seek to serve God this season more passionately, the perfect truth of Jesus shall free us to know who God really is.

Shalom,

Dr. Akpo Onduku.
