The famous carol ‘Joy To The World’ says “Joy to the world, the Lord is come! Let earth receive her King; Let every heart prepare Him room’ And Heaven and nature sing….”
It is good in this season to be joyful so why are so many people sorrowful and depressed? Do you know that the suicide rate rises at Christmas? Perhaps the reason is found in the line ‘Let every heart prepare Him room.’
Is there room in your heart for Jesus? The birth of Jesus brought great joy because He came as a Saviour to the world. Once you let Him into your heart, you have a joy that cannot be taken away and that joy is your strength according to Nehemiah 8:10. However, if you allow other things to take His place in your heart then your joy can subside. These include among others, worry, fear, discouragement, envy, anger and discontentment. Fill your heart with Jesus and look to Him at all times, no matter the storms because He is a God of peace and He will still every storm.
If you have not accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, why not do so now and experience His joy yourself. If you have done this before but seem to have lost your joy, pray as David did in Psalm 51:12 “Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and uphold me by Your generous Spirit”.
Place your trust in Him, He will never fail you.
MAY THE JOY OF JESUS FILL YOUR HEART THIS SEASON AND IN THE NEW YEAR.
